Gutierrez is no stranger to volunteer activities, having previously served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties from 2004 to 2010 and as its chair from 2009 to 2010. He was also a member of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation’s board of directors from 2006 to 2012 and served as its chair in 2011. Gutierrez’s legal practice emphasizes business and employment counseling as well as complex commercial litigation for a wide range of organizations. 6San Diego attorney Elizabeth Smith Chavez of the law firm Smith Chavez Law has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Smith Chavez has practiced law in San Diego for over 35 years. She concentrates her practice on real property and business disputes, and was named the top real estate dispute resolution attorney in San Diego in 2014.
